There was a time when I worked in mental health, and one common complaint was how SSRIs would cause sexual dysfunction within the population.

When one seeks medical attention for mental health, seldom do you see a clinician that will not hesitate to dispense drugs. But, what is not talked about enough is how SSRIs cause sexual dysfunction.

Furthermore, if you are a patient getting evaluated for mental health, it is critical to ask for a printout for the side effects of any drug the establishment thinks you may help.

Remember, you are not a subject or a customer.

The way today’s medical practice is conducted is business oriented. Stand up for yourself and do not be bullied into taking something you may not need.

A lot of times, it can be a gateway for other issues to arise physically and mentally. Have you noticed when watching an infomercial, the announcer always lists the side effects rapidly?

There is a reason.

How do SSRIs cause sexual dysfunction?

The first SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) was Prozac, which was created in 1987. Since then, many other SSRIs have been made, including Zoloft, Paxil, and Lexapro.

These drugs are typically used to treat depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.

SSRIs are a class of drugs often used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. They work by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin, which is a chemical messenger in the brain.

This helps to boost mood and alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Moreover, I forgot to mention have you noticed that you go to a drug store to fill prescriptions? Also, hospitals have drug reps come in and persuade the lab coats off of physicians to try new drugs on people, yet the staff will call them medications.

I always found that interesting during my time in the medical field.

SSRIs are some of the most commonly prescribed drugs in the United States. Some of the most well-known SSRIs include fluoxetine (Prozac), sertraline (Zoloft), escitalopram (Lexapro), and paroxetine (Paxil).

While they are generally considered safe and effective, there are some potential side effects associated with SSRIs. These can include nausea, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, and sexual dysfunction.

Some people may also experience withdrawal symptoms if they suddenly stop taking their medication. If you are considering taking an SSRI, it is imperative to research what the provider is suggesting for the overall improvement of mental health.

Additionally, there are no tests to my knowledge that can test for chemical imbalance; however, when people take some of these drugs, it can alter the way they think. Especially Prozac.

Are SSRIs linked to suicidal ideation?

SSRIs are linked to suicide. Some studies have found an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in people taking SSRIs, while other studies have not.

I am not a doctor or a liaison in mental health; however, I have a ton of experience in it and have lost a lot of people due to several issues. It is called a concurrent diagnosis.

Prozac has an extensive history of making individuals, mainly men, feel despondent over time.

If you or someone you know is considering suicide, it is essential to get help from a mental health professional right away.

If you are taking an SSRI and are having thoughts of suicide, contact your doctor or mental health professional immediately.

When you are thinking about harming yourself, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

Suicide is a serious problem, and it is vital to get help if you or someone you know is considering it.

Oh, and speaking of Prozac, let us delve into this.

Prozac

Sarah Boseley Health Correspondent the pharmaceutical company that makes Prozac has been accused of misleading doctors and patients by a new study that shows many feel suicidal after taking their prescription for mild depression.

The drugs are being handed out like candy despite evidence showing they can make healthy people who do not suffer from major depressive disorders become severely mentally ill as well, with some even ending up dead or wanting to take pills themselves!

This alarming information comes at an inconvenient time since sales have skyrocketed recently due mostly to how popular its newest form—known generically-is proving itself out among young adults suffering from “youth valued mood dysfunctions.”

Moreover, this is not something we see every day. We hear and see how “well” certain drugs perform but seldom do we see or hear about the aftermath of taking said drugs.

The military experimented back in the early 2000s doling out Prozac to troops to later find out some of the men committed suicide.

Antidepressants cause suicide and violence in soldiers.

Prozac is a drug many people take for mild depression but new research shows it can make healthy individuals with no diagnosed disorders become severely mentally ill, sometimes ending up dead or wanting to hurt themselves.

The pharmaceutical company behind Prozac has been accused of misleading doctors and patients by giving them false hope that their condition will improve after taking the prescription medicines, instead leading these consumers to feel even more hopeless than before, which leads us back to where we started- Suicide!

The army has confirmed that since 2002 the number of suicide attempts has increased six-fold. And more than 128 soldiers killed themselves last year alone!

One theory states that this is because they are prescribed drugs, which escalates when companies and their minions target new markets – in reality, it is due to shortening tours on duty with stress instead counseling or temporarily removing stressed-out service members from combat zones without any real help available for them outside what we offer here at home through our drug pipeline (which some may feel is not enough).

The takeaway: Some think pharmaceutical companies fabricate depression symptoms so as not only to increase sales but also to take away the reality that these drugs come with potential side effects.

Sadly, companies hide so much from consumers. The elite expects us to be the test subjects regarding the latest and greatest medical achievements.

Military personnel often face more than just physical danger on the battlefield.

The mental scars left behind by war can be just as deep. Many Sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) soldiers have been turning to therapy for help with their emotional trauma to avoid being institutionalized or medicated into silence through prescriptions such as psychiatric drugs, which some doctors fear will change how they act when serving against enemies abroad because it turns out these drugs are not always effective at managing rage without causing some sort of issue negatively.

Again, I can speak on this personally because of my twenty-year career in mental health. The stories I have listened to over the years are incredible.

Conclusion

I realize this post was supposed to be about how these drugs can affect a person’s love life negatively; however, it was vital for me to point out the elephant in the room.

Suicide is real and especially when it comes to men because we tend to hide it better. It is a proven statistic that men terminate their life more so than women.

There is a lot of debate surrounding the use of SSRIs, and whether or not they are effective.

While some people may experience positive results from taking these medications, others may not. If you are considering taking an SSRI, it is important to speak with your doctor about the risks and benefits.

Additionally, it is important to be aware of the potential side effects, which can include: headaches, nausea, diarrhea, sexual problems, and fatigue.

If you experience any of these side effects, it is important to speak with a mental health professional about how SSRIs are not right for everyone, and it is important to weigh the pros and cons before starting any medication.

However, for some people, these drugs can be life-changing.

This is the story of how SSRIs can cause sexual dysfunction along with other notable symptoms not to be ignored.
