AI will change the world in 3 ways

Whether you are aware of it or not, you are experiencing the commencement of a new historical era. With the advent of the internet, it was once believed that we had entered the “information age.” With the release of ChatGPT and other forms of artificial intelligence, I think it is safe to state that AI will change the world in 3 ways.

What is the next step in all of this? Artificial intelligence will soon alter the world, not necessarily for the benefit or betterment.

Listed below are some of my observations. 😮

AI Will Change The World In 3 Ways While Getting Smarter

I distinguish this concept from that of superintelligence. When I refer to “Super AI,” I mean that various AI capabilities will be combined. Consider what you would get if you combined ChatGPT, Midjourney, Grammarly, financial advisor AI, facial recognition, “counseling AI,” and other AIs. Moreover, AI learns and adapts extraordinarily rapidly – much faster than humans can comprehend.

It would be similar to Jarvis from the film Iron Man. You would wind up with an artificial intelligence that resembled a genie in a bottle. Almost anything you would want an AI to do that was not strictly necessary in the actual world that AI could do.

Want to discuss how your day went, what you are contemplating, the advice you require, or your desire to make money trading stocks? It would be possible for a “hyper AI” to do even more. This would be comparable to the film Her. You have this brilliant AI that is nearly as competent as a human. Because AI understands you, AI could begin supplanting human relationships with relative ease.

Regarding superintelligence, I think we still have a measure of time. Superintelligence is a difficult concept to grasp, but Nick Bostrom’s book on the topic (Superintelligence) and The Singularity Is Near are two volumes that will help you better understand the concept.

AI Soldiers From The Movie “Terminator” Is Another One

Nations will almost undoubtedly engage in a form of arms race involving AI. People will do everything possible to determine how to weaponize this so that it can be used to defend their people and attack others.

Initially, this will likely be utilized for cyberwarfare in the form of hacking and coding new viruses that, like Stuxnet, can cause physical hardware harm. You will also encounter the term “financial warfare.” AI is extraordinarily proficient at pattern recognition. It will be used to construct artificial intelligence that manipulates financial markets to wreak economic havoc on hostile nations and peoples.

Literally, it could be used to cause a financial depression in a targeted nation and could be designed to affect that nation exclusively (or at least predominantly). This AI would determine which stocks and companies a country requires the most and then pursue them.

But not only in the digital domain. There will also be astounding advancements in AI and robotics. Already, ChatGPT is being implemented in robot canines. This is figuratively just the start. In 2020, AI, drones, and temperature-reading cameras were used to collect data and enforce regulations. What follows with AI is a hyperbolic version of this.

Do I anticipate the development of robots capable of making independent decisions and acting of their own volition? No, not really. Instead, I predict that police and military units will program robots to accomplish X objective without human oversight, and those robots will then go out and achieve that goal.

There will be numerous obstacles in the beginning phases, but Elysium-style police robots are pretty close within the next 20 years (if not sooner).

Wait, there is more… 🤯

The Demise Of Jobs As We Know It

We are already witnessing widespread job loss due to companies replacing humans with artificial intelligence. IBM would be Exhibit A here. They are prepared to supplant their human resources department with artificial intelligence.

Consider the invention of the loom or any other technological instrument throughout history. They result in employment loss. Study the history of the Luddites to understand what I mean. Similar to how Gutenberg took scribes out of business, introducing advanced AI into the world will likely have the same effect on humanity.

New employment will be created due to the introduction of this technology (if the past is any indication), but a great deal will also change.

Manual labor is currently one of the safest alternatives since robotic technology and cost are not yet at a level that would render plumbers, electricians, and carpenters unemployed. You have cause for concern if you use computers for virtually any purpose.

Once upon a time, I believed that only comedians would be safe from having their livelihoods taken by robots. However, I no longer believe this because AI has already become quite adept at making quips on its own.) The more it is utilized, the smarter it gets. It reminds me of the movie Short Circuit from 1985. AI will change the world in 3 ways continues.

In Summary, AI Is Changing The World In 3 Ways

I do not believe this is an exhaustive list of how you will see changes soon, but it is a decent starting point. As time progresses, keep your attention to the road, and you will observe a significant amount of the above. Most of it is detrimental to humanity.

Nonetheless, what are some of your thoughts? Do you anticipate additional affected areas? Do you believe I am off base with the preceding? Are you concerned about the emergence of artificial intelligence? In either case, please inform me in the comment section.
